The department of Civil Engineering established in year 2008 with an intake of 60 and is enhanced to 120 in take from 2009 onwards. PG programme is started in 2014 with an intake of 18, The primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate and postgraduate in areas of Structural Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of road and buildings. The Department presently offers UG Programme B.Tech with an intake of 120 and two PG programme Structural Engineering with an intake of 30. The Department has been accredited by NBA in 2016 for UG and 2018 for PG, for excellence in engineering education.
Over the span of 10 years since inception, the department has been successful in attracting some of the best minds both in the student and teaching community.
The Department has several well-equipped laboratories, namely, Strength of Materials,AutoCAD,Surveying,Concrete Technology,Engineering Geology,Geotechnical Engineering,Environmental Engineering,RS and GIS,Computer Applications in Structural Engineering,Fluid Mechanics,Hydraulic and Hydraulic Machines,Transportation Engineering, Structural Design and Advanced Concrete Technology. The Department motivates students to take up innovative projects through participation in an active in-house product development Lab. Industry interaction is being promoted through several projects.
